21世纪以来,气候变化与生物变异、科技爆炸性增长、全球系统性变革都在不可逆转地再造我们的生存环境。尤其在2020年开始的全球疫情大流行后,巨大地改变了我们的社会形态与生活方式。而由此而浮现出来新的人与物理、虚拟环境的关系亟待重新评估与定位。
“设计+环境”的主题引发对环境与设计之间关系问题和共生方式的思辨。呼唤一种聚焦世界的趋动;象征一种自主觉醒的立场。城市是我们个体的延伸,设计将整个生活转译成信息的精神形态,使人类大家庭具有着统一的意识与感知。今天我们关注环境,不因其作为容器,更由于设计的参与正在重塑对生活形态的理解和认知。同时你我身处的环境是设计的产物,而当下的设计也是脱胎于我们设计的环境。所以时代要求我们一同思考“设计在环境之上,还是环境在设计之上”的问题。
“环境+设计”的思辨开启了一次设计存在与意义的思想巡礼。设计究竟是环境的内容,抑或是环境是设计的形式?我们自身是否成为我们所观察的环境对象?这些帮助着设计师们探索一条融合同一性、持续性、秩序性的理性之路。设计师因其敏锐的洞察力,无疑都在参与撰写未来的历史;也因其具有的整体意识,必然会为人类共同面对的问题提供答案。
本次中国美术学院的34幅海报设计作品,以如何引发或解决环境问题、环境与设计关系等多种方式切入主题,各自诠释了对“环境+设计”的认知、态度及思辨。“环境+设计”不只是两者关系思考,更是一种对自身和现状的反思。它的力量在于我们的共同参与,也在于触发设计师与生存环境共呼吸的联动情感。

Since the 21st century, climate change and biological variability, the explosive growth of technology, and global systemic changes, all of which have irreversibly reshaping our environments. Especially the outbreak of the pandemic has huge impact on our society and lifestyle. As a result, the new relationship between people and the physical and virtual environment needs to be re-evaluated and re-positioned.
The theme of ‘Design + Environment’ raises the question of the relationship between environment and design and the way of symbiosis, calls for a tendency to focus on the global as a whole, symbolizes a position of self-awakening. City is an extension of individuals. The design translates the process of life into a spiritual form of information, enabling us to consolidate the consciousness and perception. Today when we look at the surroundings, it is no longer a container, as design is reshaping the cognition and understanding the forms of living. Nevertheless the environment as a product of design, it fosters what we are designing now. Therefore, it requires us to think about the relation of ‘design upon environment or environment upon design’.
The theme of ‘Design + Environment’ initiates an intellectual journey of the existence and meaning of design. Is design the content of the environment, or is the environment the form of design? Do we ourselves become a part of the environment we observe? These questions help designers to explore a rational approach that integrates identity, sustainability and social order. With an insightful view, designers are undoubtedly writing the history of the future; and with an integrated capability, designers will definitely find the solutions for the global challenges.
The 34 posters designed by the China Academy of Art are designed in various ways, such as how to cause or solve environmental problems, and the relationship between environment and design. They explained the cognition, attitude and speculation of ‘Design + Environment’. ‘Design + Environment’ is not only a reflection on the relationship between the two, but also a reflection on oneself and the current situation. Its power lies in our joint participation, and also in triggering the linkage emotion of designers and living environment breathing together.
